The 800 has been heating up lately with a solid string of
sub 2 results. As of now, it looks like Hudson Delisle would be on the outside
looking in for the fast heat (which wasn’t much of a problem for him last year
to be fair). For the record, I have no idea what Shanahan’s plan will be come
states, but I expect to see Hoey and Yoquinto in this field chasing medals. I
think the individual goals will be prioritized over the relays, but obviously
they could set a couple meet records in the 4x8 and DMR if they wanted to.
Some big sleepers in this event like Dhillon of Upper Darby
(split sub 2 this weekend) who could make noise in the coming weeks and shake
up the rankings. Still no Josh Hoey in this event either (despite a 1k that was
under SQG pace quite comfortably).
Where did Dhillon split sub 2?
ReplyDeleteAt New Balance Upper Darby ran a 3:37 for the SMR with listed splits of 51.6, 23.8, 23.4 and 1:58.3. I assumed Dhillon was the 800 leg (my apologies if he was not) as he has the fastest PBs. Abington's 4x8 anchor also was well under 2 minutes at 1:57 low. I'd guess that was either Coleman or Mitchell.
